Ask yourself how important your health is and whether it’s worth the effort to do what you can to improve it and reduce your risk of illness.

It’s a well-established fact that what you eat has a direct effect on your health – either by improving it or making it worse.  If your diet consists mainly of fast or processed food and sugar sweetened drinks, ( a typical meal from your local take-out chain), you are greatly increasing your likelihood of ending up with diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disease, obesity and other chronic illnesses.  On the other hand, eliminating the junk food and taking the time to cook meals made largely from fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains and plant-based proteins greatly reduces your risk of chronic illness and can even help reverse disease.

It’s really easy to go to the drive-thru and be ready to eat within 3 – 4 minutes from the time you order, or to purchase frozen meals that you can pop in the microwave and have ready also in a matter of minutes.  It takes more time and effort to plan a meal, go to the store or farmer’s market and then prepare the meal.  The difference between the options though, can be the difference between health and sickness.  The relatively mall portion of your day that it takes to pay attention to what you’re eating and how it was prepared can help you avoid a lifetime of chronic illness, medications and reduce quality of life.

Are your health and well-being important enough to make the effort to eat the foods that will nourish your body instead of destroying it?  Ask yourself:  Am I worth it?

We hope your answer is a definitive YES, I AM worth it!  #IAmWorthIt
